“Improving Performance – The Neuroscience of Action Learning”

With Keynote Speaker, Phil Dixon, Founder of the Academy of Brain-based Leadership

Message from the Chair

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It’s my pleasure to welcome you to the 2017 WIAL-USA Conference located in picturesque Frederick, Maryland; within driving distance of the Baltimore/Washington Metro Area.

Improving Performance – The Neuroscience of Action Learning is the intriguing theme of this year’s conference. Ongoing study of the human brain provides us with important insights into adult learning and development.

Have you ever wondered…

  • What exactly is happening inside our brains as we work and lead?
  • How can knowing the ‘brain-friendly’ way to lead others be valuable?
  • What would it be like to be a more conscious leader – fully aware, highly creative, and leaving a consistently positive impact on those around you?

Imagine the impact that knowledge could have to further improve your leadership skills; developing greater competency in giving feedback, brainstorming, coaching others, and more.

You are warmly invited to participate in this year’s conference. Bring your colleagues, co-workers, board members, or others that you want to introduce to Action Learning and brain-friendly leadership. You’ll be glad you did.

There’s something for everyone, so whether you’re new to action learning and wonder what how it could enhance your organization (or your leadership skills)…or if you’ve been using it a long time and you want to learn more…I know you’ll find this Action Learning experience beneficial.

I look forward to seeing you on October 5th!

All the best,
Carol

What is Action Learning?

Action learning is a dynamic approach to problem solving and decision-making. Small groups focus powerful questions to deepen understanding, clarify possibilities, and create action around real organizational challenges and problems.

It provides a pathway for individuals, teams, leaders, and organizations to successfully adapt, learn, and innovate. A dual benefit is achieved as team members work on developing their individual leadership skills while solving real problems.

Benefits of Action learning:

  • Developing engaged leaders and teams
  • Creating sustainable, productive, strategic, organizations
  • Navigating organizational change successfully
  • Developing innovative teams
  • Establishing cultural norms for organizational performance
  • Coaching through powerful questions and curiosity
