Specifically, action learning is remarkable in its ability to:

  • solve problems and challenges with breakthrough and sustaining strategies,
  • develop the leadership skills and qualities needed by twenty-first-century managers,
  • develop teams that continuously improve their capability to form and adapt, and
  • capture, transfer, and apply valuable knowledge at the individual, group, organizational, and community levels.

Additionally, WIAL-USA promotes Action Learning through forums, certification workshops, professional coaching, research, thought leadership, publications and other initiatives.


Rogier ten Kate, MBA


Originally from the Netherlands, currently living in Canada. He is a dynamic people and Organizational development coach. With more than 20 years of work experience has held various International Marketing, Sales and Business Development roles. Currently working as a Professor at Durham College in the School of Business, he will also start WIAL Canada this year.

He is an enthusiastic and active trainer and workshop coach. He is familiar with the Action Learning methodology, which perfectly fits in with his current Organizational and human development work. His workshops enable people and organization to become more creative and innovative. They also support and initiate active problem-solving.

He completed his BA in International marketing at Northwood University in Texas and his MBA in International Business Management at Bradford University in the UK.
