I will say “we need to be remained calm first when something urgent happens. It’s better than being in a flurry. ” And I will check the situation if something urgent really happens. If it turns out to be malfunctioning, I will let them know it is okay. And I will ask the team, “what was just happening? ” “what was an impact on our team?” “what would you do if something similar to this happening happens in your team as a team?”

As a coach, first of all, make sure everyone is calm and then make sure there is an accident. If not, I will ask to the team: what has happened to our team?

I would make sure the group immediately followed emergency procedures, but when we returned I would ask the group what process they want to use to determine how they will respond to sudden interruptions like fire alarms. This will form a new norm that will decrease the impact of future interruptions.

The fire alarm goes off, that means one thing: that we have to leave the building. We stop the session and look for another place where it is safer to continue the session.

I would remind people of the evacuation route we were told about before the session began. As people gathered their belongings to evacuate, I would tell them “When we return to the room, I will ask you whether we should keep our planned end time or extend the session.”

I would ensure that the team followed the appropriate emergency evacuation procedures. If the building was given the all clear and employees could return to the meeting space before the scheduled end time, I would unpack the following questions and ask the group as we settled back in how the sudden interruption landed with the group; how they were feeling; what is its impact on the Action Learning process; and how they’d like to proceed. If the group was unable to return to the meeting space before the scheduled end time, I would follow-up with an email to the group asking a variation of the above questions.

If emergency happens, I will keep calm, not agitate, and ask the group “What happen outside the room?” The reason I ask this question first because there are many assumptions in this case, the equipment is malfunction, fire evacuation drill, and the worst case, actual fire. Then, I will ask the team “What do the team want to do in this situation? If they agree to terminate the session, I will ask for the date that they are available again. If they want to do something else to manage this situation, just in case of fire evacuation drill, I will let them discuss within the group to find solution and action due to this situation and after the circumstances, I will bring them back to AL again by asking their readiness.

Assuming this was not a fire drill, I would tell the team that the fire alarm is sounding, and safety is our primary concern. I would ask everyone to stay calm, proceed with the emergency evacuation procedures, and stay together at the emergency holding area to await further instructions. I would then ask a team member to lead them out and I would be the sweeper.

I would garantee that the team followed the strict emergency evacuation procedures.
When we have time to come back the meeting room and follow our meeting, I wil ask them about they were feeling. Also I will ask them as group what we will decide? If we have conditions to follow or will be better schedule another meeting.

I assume that this is not a fire drill. I will tell the group that this session is suspended, and ask team members if they want to continue so that later we can arrange for the next meeting. We have no time to schedule it now, and it takes hours before situation is back to normal.
I will ask team members if there is anyone working in this building who has evacuation experience from the fire drill. If there is, she/he can be a leader to find the way out of this building to the meeting point.
If not, standard procedure applied, find fire exit and walk down the stairs to the building exit.
In any case, see you all later.

I will keep the team calm and get to know the reasons for the alarm. Then, as required to organize the team either continue to stay in the room or leave here immediataly. When reunion, I would like to invite participants to review the progress of the last meeting, to ensure the continuation of the two sessions.

First, I would ask the group if any of them is trained on emergency situations (fire brigade or something like that). If no one is, I would make sure the group is following emergency procedures to evacuate the building, helping them to remain as calm as possible. I, personally, would go last on the group, ensuring no one is left behind.
If we find out it was a false alarm, I would gather the group again and ask them how is everybody feeling about resuming our AL session.

I would follow standard emergency procedures: keep the team calm, search for the coordinator responsible for the area security and proceed with the evacuation together with all the people in the building. Once all the required procedures are completed and all the team members in safety I would investigate if there is any other area, time and willingness in the team availables to continue the session. If not then I would agree to reschedule the session.
In case of the false alarm and assuming that the fire alarm is nearly immediately revoked I would ask the team “What happend? How does that impact our work here?”

First, I will tell all team members not to panic because it might be a false alarm or the fire drill schedule of the building. But I will tell them to follow the protocol of evacuation, go out of the building based on “safety first”.
After everything is all clear, either it a real fire, or just a drill. I would cancel the class and ask team when and where will we re-do the class because people till not ready to attend the class after this situation.
