Rick has over 30 years’ experience in Leadership, Operations, Coaching, and Cultural Change roles within UK Industry, HM Government, the Fire and Rescue Service & British Army during which time he has become an advocate for action learning, coaching, and change management. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management, a Fellow of the Institute of Fire Engineers, and a Member of the Change Management Institute. Rick lives in the UK however grew up in the Southern African countries of Botswana and Swaziland (Now Eswatini) which has greatly influenced his leadership philosophy.

Rick is the Head of Change Management for a major nuclear enterprise in the UK and describes his work as, ‘helping people to embrace and lead change in VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous) environments using a unique mix of cultural insights, a blend of the African indigenous philosophy of dialogue, traditional corporate Change management methodologies, Action Learning, Coaching and Crisis management skills.

Rick coaches both internally and externally internationally at all levels of a diverse spread of organisations, as well as providing a bespoke Independent Fire Risk Management service specialising is the behavioural aspects of embedding healthy behavioural attributes in relation to safety culture using action learning as his core methodology.

Rick states : “My purpose is simple, it’s to leave a legacy of passionate, inspirational leaders who truly appreciate and care about the safety of the people they lead, and who embrace and lead Change through dialogue and kindness. My goal is to live a life ‘on purpose.”
