Dr. Sudeep Mohandas early career development exposed him to the working environment of government, corporate and the nonprofit sector. He was the early founder to the Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF) and has been involved with Pure Life Society since 1993.

In his career span of over 28 years, Sudeep was fortunate to have served WWF Malaysia for 13 years. During that time, he was responsible for strategic planning of global issues covering Africa and Asia. In 2014, Sudeep set up his company I First International, a Nonprofit Management Consultancy with the mission to professionalise the board and management of nonprofits. Since then his company has been able to serve nonprofits in Malaysia, Europe, Africa and Asia.

Some of Sudeep’s notable achievements during his career have been in winning the National HR Award for best HR Employer in 2002, and being an editor to a book on Careers in Conservation, as well as an author of two books What Influences the Generation Y to join a Nonprofit Organisation? and Nonprofit Management: Trials and Tribulations and was the early initiators to the establishment of the Malaysian AIDS Foundation.

Sudeep’s undergraduate was in Biotechnology from Imperial College but later he switched to Management and pursued a Masters in Human Resource at Hawaii Pacific University, USA. In 2014 he graduated with his Doctorate in Human Resources. He is certified to teach and train in Strategic Management and Governance Leadership from Harvard University. He holds a Teacher Training License and is a Certified Trainer in Malaysia and an Internationally Certified Professional Facilitator (IAF).

He currently serves as the Vice President and International Board Member to the World Institute of Action Learning (WIAL) and is a strategic advisor to a social enterprise, SASTRA Education in Malaysia. He is an Industry Panel Advisor to a local private university in Malaysia and holds the title of Adjunct Professor to the International University of European Studies, Netherlands. He has written many articles on nonprofit management issues and sought after for as advisor for his technical expertise concerning Board and Management issues within the Nonprofits.
