I would ask them a few questions such as “Why do they feel that way?” or “How has action learning contributed to this feeling?”

Ask: how could you replicate this with the people that they typically work with?

This experience of the team member indicates that throughout the session the team has grown and that they have created a psychologically safe environment that promotes openness to ask questions without the fear of making mistakes.
    I would invite this team member to reflect on the process and the learnings by asking the following questions;
what he or she has learned that he or she would attribute to this feeling? How did it impact this team member? And how can this team member apply the new skills in other teams? I would also invite other team members to reflect on this and on how they can improve the dynamics in other teams by applying what they have learned in the action learning sessions

In addition to the suggestions above, I would further ask other team members if they feel the same way.

I would ask a few questions: What made him feel this way? What does he lack in working with his team to feel the same way? Does it affect it? What can it do? Does it want to do? What will be his first step?

I would ask the participant, “Why do you feel closer to the AL team members than those you have worked with for 30 years?” Then I would also ask other participants, “What would you think about it?” “When our relationship becomes closer, what is the influence to our interaction in the future?” At last, I would ask, “What we can do more to keep our relationship closer in the future?”

I would try to understand the reason behind the team member’s preference and ask the specific participant the following questions:
    – What is the reason that makes you feel more closer to AL team members? followed by an additional question, this time to the wider group as:
    – Are there anyone else that share the same feelings?
If there are others within the group with similar thoughts, I would ask:
    – Can you please share with us your motivation?
And most importantly, I would try to understand how we should keep the relationship rolling in the future and ask:
    – How do you think we could maintain the collaboration between members of the AL team?

    – What do the other members think about this?
    – How did action learning contribute to creating that feeling?
    – What would he do differently to get closer to the people he works with?

As an Action Learning coach, I will ask that member a few questions to receive more information from this statement: Can you share more specifically about this? Why do you feel closer to the members of their Action Learning team? They have been working with the last couple days than people they have worked with for 30 years?
How does AL help you? How can you maintain this relationship in the future? How do you apply this to people you work with for 30 years?

I would ask, “What is it about the Action Learning process that helped build the closeness with the team?”. I would then ask, “How could Action Learning could be used to further your relationship with your other colleagues?”

When this statement is said in response to a question, I wait to see how the other team members respond. What I hope is that the other team members ask in-depth questions so that it becomes clear why this feeling exists. And whether it also applies to others. If they do not come up with in-depth questions, I identify a learning opportunity and ask the team to delve deeper into the learning opportunities of action learning and what this brings about for the team members.
