I would check with the team what their comfort level is and if they need to make any changes in the temperature before asking them how they would like to proceed.

Would I intervene and ask the group if everyone feels comfortable keeping the air conditioning on?

I would share what I noticed and ask them “what is the impact differences with or without alignment before taking action which may affect the team?”

I would say “I noticed that a group member turned on the a/c without checking with the other team members”, and then ask
    1. How does it impact a group of people when we take such actions of our own accord and volition?
    2. How can we attend to our needs without imposing our will on others?

I would make an intervention and ask the group:
Does everyone feel comfortable keeping the air conditioner on?
What is the impact of taking an action that affects the whole group without consulting the people involved?

I would make an intervention and ask the group:
What is the impact of taking an action that affects the whole group without consulting the people involved? How could we solve the problem of air conditioning involving people?

I would ask the team if they have noticed a team member had switched on the a/c. I would follow up with a question asking if its fine with all the team members?

As an action learning coach, I would note the team what happened and ask:
How do you feel about what happened just now? (Let every participant share his/her comment.)
Then ask the team: What impact will this have on our discussion? Positive and negative.
The third question: What do you learn from this?

As an AL coach, in this situation, I would check-in with team on the feeling of others: “Hello team, I’ve observed that Mr. A turned on the A/c. Have you notice that? What do you want to do as a team now, to make sure we’re all comfortable to move forward?”

I will intervene and share what I noticed to the team then ask “What is the impact when taking action without alignment?” follow up with “How to decide our pattern when taking action in the future? “

As an Action Learning Coach, I’ll address the situation as follow.

    – I observed a member left her seat to switch on the A/C.
    – What’s the impact to the team dynamics?
    – How could we do if similar issue comes again?

I will intervene and share what I noticed to the team then ask “What is the impact if a member takes action on him or herself like this?” follow up with “How should we do if the same issue happen in the future? “

As an action learning coach, I would talk to everyone:
“Hello team, I observed that one team member just turned on the air conditional without asking anyone. How do you feel, comfortable or not?
What is the impact of this action to this session and what should we do for the future cases?”

If this occur more than once, The questions that I will use during the interventions will be
    • How is the team concentration level?
    • If someone was away from the group, What will be the impact to the teamwork?
    • How will we manage to improve this situation?
